In the week of February 16th - 20th, ESJ will, in partnership with Urgent Action Fund and Legal Resources Foundation run a workshop for 15 community radio presenters drawn from Nairobi's informal settlements.
The training seeks to provide human rights training to radio presenters in communities where media personalities are increasingly viewed as an avenue to solutions on human rights concerns. Informal settlements provide an ideal climate for a high incidence of human rights violations without a clear link between the human rights issues and human rights organizations and enforcement agencies. Communities frequently raise human rights concerns through radio call in sessions that the presenters are ill equipped to handle.
