MARKETING THE PUBLICATION
Just because you have a paper published in a journal doesn't mean anyone will read it.
There is so much published every day that even the most hard working scientist will not read everything that they ought to.
How will they know, unless they were specifically looking for your paper, that you have just made an important contribution
to knowledge in your field?
Well, you could take the trouble to draw their attention to the paper. One way of doing that is to send people a copy of your
paper. Don't feel shy about doing so. You are doing them a favour: they won't need to search for it or photocopy it in the
library.
But who should you send it to? You can't send it to everyone. Clearly you must make a decision about who is important.
