CORRECTING PROOFS

When your paper is finally accepted for publication, the editor may make a number of changes to it:

• correcting any grammar and spelling mistakes;
• standardising spellings, abbreviations, units of measurements, etc, according to the journal's house style.

This process is known as copy-editing. The paper then goes to the typesetter, who will produce proofs. These proofs will usually look like the pages of the published journal.

You will be sent a copy of the proofs and asked to check them carefully for any errors.
