INTRODUCTION

Before you begin on the introduction, stop and read through the notes you have made so far in your outline. Read them through and see whether there is a coherent story, a unifying theme that runs through the outline. Is there a story there? Does it knit together well?

Your outline should start with the main message, describe what the purpose or objective of your study was, how you went about doing the study, what you found and what are the implications of what you found. If the story outline is there, then it should all point towards your main message.

If your outline doesn't 'tell a story', you may need to do some work on it before you prepare your outline introduction.
