Flow charts

Use flow charts to display processes or steps.

  • The golden rule is: keep it simple.
  • Give each box a clear simple heading. Make sure that it is legible (12pt or larger).
  • Indicate flow with simple arrows and include any loops.
  • Avoid providing too much detail. If there is a large amount of information, consider breaking up the flow chart into more than one chart - perhaps providing a simple overview chart to help guide the reader.
