Since the fight for independence, land has been at the centre of the struggle for freedom and social justice for Kenyans. Currently the debate on land injustices has been brought to national prominence as the country transitions to the new form ofdevolved government and as it head to elections. Significant work has been done and continues to be done by different players to move the process of land justice forward. Through our work on the State of the unioncampaign (SOTU), Fahamu hopes to contribute to this important struggle in Africa. It is for this reason that we are planningan open debate on the question: We hope by debating this question, we shallbe able to identify ways in which we can best contribute our unique strengths to further the struggle against land injustices in Kenya. |
